My First Cavy!

Postby Heather » Sat Sep 16, 2006 11:22 pm

I just got my first cavy this past week :) She is so cute; a TSW american sow. Just a pet =^.^= I named her Snafoo, LOL. Its neat to have something other than bunnies haha. I just love how talkative they are.

Be careful. They're a lot like tater chips - hard to have just one! Much more "opinionated" than rabbits also. ROFL

Oh my gosh, what an adorable little pig!

I agree; they have the cutest little voices.

And the TSW's can be soooo cute! Just be prepared for the differences between piggers and bunnies. As many years as I had rabbits I was totally unprepared when I got pigs - they can getcha BAD! Totally addicting. They get you wrapped around their little toe - THEY are the BOSS and they know it!

Lupe is right! After being in rabbits for too many years than I care to remember, I am seriously thinking about selling out of rabbits as soon as my COD project is done (pass or fail) and go totally to the pigs. My son has approx 25 of the things now and I just love them - especially the babies. Much more interesting than rabbit babies when they are born eyes open and on the go. They are a bit more work but that just give me more excuses to be with them (just supervising their care of course! ha ha).
